    The Cars are great. Didn't they reform and go on tour without Okasik recently?

    That was the tour before, where Todd Rungren filled in for Ric Ocasek.

    They were such a great band, saw 'em on one of their early tours in a small club and they were fantastic. Saw them years later in a stadium and it just wan't the same. Elliott Easton is a monster geetar player.

    There music, especially at first, was always so mechanical and cold, but the guitar work (usually) gave it some counterbalance, some organic warmth....

    I just read that they released a new album in 2011 (?) and he's credited as songwriter on almost all songs.....
