I enjoy the nuts and bolts a lot more than the racing.

I worked at a mom and pop speed shop from 16 until I was 32 and the guys in the garage and on pit row represent the pinnacle of my profession. I don't expect Joe Blow to care.

On the outside all the cars look the same. But is there really a big difference under the hood?

I LOVED bull shitting the old timers. I really miss that part of my old job... that and they're all dying off. That's another part of NASCAR that doesn't translate well, the tradition.

I had free tickets to attend a NASCAR race once..and, also had to sit through two different truck races that were in support of a CART race.... I gotta say, I've NEVER seen a more bizarre & disturbing looking fan base in my life .. Every single "dumb hillybilly" joke I'd ever heard completely made sense to me that day....its beyond creepy to see grown adults wearing these God-awful looking shirts with giant pictures of their "favorite" driver... I was ashamed to share the same ethnic-background with those folks that day...

So, Lucky and Hater, are you saying that anybody can get in a car that has been prepared for racing and drive for 3 hours in a crowd of other cars as fast as they can and only turn left? No skill whatsoever needed? That's kind of the message I'm getting from you.

No. I'm simply saying I don't see any entertainment value in watching Nascar on television.

Going to the race might be different, I understand, but on TV, it's 3 hours of watching a cluster of faggots driving round and round and round and round and round

They all have fenders.. so, it ain't as dangerous as you'd like it to be
