In a better place. I don't support chattel slavery. I'm a Jeffersonian Democrat, small yeomen farmers are the bedrock of a republic not a bunch of slaves. However I think the advent of modern farming would have resulted in much the same things as happened anyways, the Great Migration north etc. Liberia should have been pursued with much greater vigor as well.
