I don't buy it. Jackie's just as big of a liar as Wig. And Jackie's not smart enough to realize that it was gonna be huge (and who would have guessed it was gonna be huge?! No one?).

If you listen to the tap, you can hear that Wig didn't really pick up on it right away and didn't make much about it until later in the clip.

From what I recall Howard didn't catch it at first, and only after he said it again did Howard say something like "what did you say?".

That could have been because of a note from Jackie.

Yeah but Gary was heard outside the studio saying Baba Booey before Stern asks him on air.
Jackie (?) alerted Howard via note to ask Gary about it knowing he was gonna say Baba BOOEY.




Stern has a long history of taking credit for all things amazing.
That is one reason why Jackie saved his notes.
It wasn't until the E show that Stern had to fess up to the note passing system because we could see it on TV.

Howard could have just have ignored Jackie's note and steered the show along to a different topic. He didn't invent Baba Booey, but he made it famous. Don't confuse this period of the show's history with the very productive and funny 90s.

In the 2 part Baba Booey clip someone else posted Gary makes a crack about blabbing about this subject during the break.
There is commentary somewhere of Jackie saying Gary first made his Baba Booey blunder during the break.
My point was Howard was alerted/informed of the Booey blunder and was trying to pry it out of the monkey organically on the air......and he did it successfully!
I would believe Jackie's version over Gary,Howard,Robin or Fred any day of the week!
I'll put my knowledge of Stern show history up against any of you neophytes any day of the mother fucking week!
