It was a show where Ma Ma Monkey was bragging about his comic art collection claiming he was an expert in comics. He then said he was going to get some Baba Louie art. But he accidentally (or just out of stupidity) called it Baba Booey. And they clowned on him for not even knowing the name of the character.

i dont think gary mis-spoke. he really thought that was the name of it.

Howard could have just have ignored Jackie's note and steered the show along to a different topic. He didn't invent Baba Booey, but he made it famous. Don't confuse this period of the show's history with the very productive and funny 90s.

In the 2 part Baba Booey clip someone else posted Gary makes a crack about blabbing about this subject during the break.
There is commentary somewhere of Jackie saying Gary first made his Baba Booey blunder during the break.
My point was Howard was alerted/informed of the Booey blunder and was trying to pry it out of the monkey organically on the air......and he did it successfully!
I would believe Jackie's version over Gary,Howard,Robin or Fred any day of the week!
I'll put my knowledge of Stern show history up against any of you neophytes any day of the mother fucking week!

If true it is interesting to hear Stern try to get him to say it on the air.
Goofing on Gary in the 80's & early 90's was always amazing......and he always unwittingly provided the amazing-ness.
