The info was only somewhat certain that Iraq may have had weapons of mass destruction, even if they did we were sold a story that they were actually a threat to america on our own soil--no evidence backed that up.
Japan did attack us first, and then refused to surrender when everyone else had. The use of nukes in that situation will probably be debated for centuries to come.
Sure, war is hell. I think our country can and will continue to take more pride in how we won WWII vs how and why we "won" Iraq. It also took about 2.3 times the amount of time to "win" Iraq than WWII.

You're an idiot
So let me see if I got this, we set up the Iraq war to be more PC than previous wars to satisfy the liberals who demanded that?
The increased cost had nothing to do with the huge force of private no-bid contractors making an average of 3 to 4 times what the actual military was making all while having virtually no regulation under the U.S. military. Are you sure you are as old as you say?![]()
You forgot to pay attention to world events and politics before 2010
I didn't say anything about Cheney because I was referring just to "boots on the ground" people. A lot of security and service force in Iraq was private and they made about 150K+ a year for stuff our military could do all while saying it was "an all volunteer service". Please elaborate on the PC components of the Iraq war compared to WWII.
Well that is one way to look at it, but we didn't nuke japan right away--they just wouldn't surrender. It was nuke them or potentially have millions more in casualties.
We called them enemy soldiers back then, since no substantial insurgencies developed in WWII, we beat the enemy got them on their feet and left. Iraq's actual army was taken out in like 3 or 4 months, the next 9 years were all counter insurgency.
