Yes, but there would still be plenty of disrespect left.

No, because he would only do it if he were cornered into doing so....the walls are tumbling down. Aint that America?
Jon Hein is God is Lord over the Saloon.

Get rid of the wig, the nig, and Benjy the pig.
This seems contradictory to me. If he's already lost his hardcore fans, including myself, then he'd need to go an extra step in the other direction to gain them back. Just retiring and leaving the tapes playing is not enough because the tapes team has proven to be pathetic. I don't even listen to the tapes anymore. The Kinison special was heavily censored and edited. The whitewashing of the 9/11 attack show is also another reason to listen to old fan made tapes than the H100 whitewashed garbage.
The fact is that the underground filesharing groups are light-years ahead of Howard's tapes team. I can request entire years of shows and they'll pass them along within a week. I had someone send me all three 'Fight Week' specials commercial free within a few hours and I threw them on my mp3 player and have listened to them twice through now. I just send someone almost every single Gilbert appearance from the late 80s until 2005. The tapes team can't even keep up with a single fan.
If Howard wants to gain back his hardcore following he needs to put together a final year or two of legendary radio and win everyone back and rebuild his reputation. That last thing we remember him by should be a legendary year in radio. Not working two days a week to do some lame fucking hacky reality TV talent show. Here's what Howard needs:
- work five days a week
- hire some comedians to sit in on the show full time like Dave Attell or Paul Mooney
- hire an impressionist like Aries Spears, a new Billy West
- fire Benjy and hire a real writer like Anthony Jeselnik or Louis CK
- produce the roasts and high quality specials again
One year of that would win back a huge amount of fans and push Howard into the daily lives of tons of people. Then the last thing that we will remember of Howard will be that final year where he was on fire every day. After that he can retire and just play the tapes and put out specials.
He's probably over $1 billion in terms of his net worth. Between his K-Rock and Sirius money alone he's pushing that most likely. I cannot understand Howard's motivations at all anymore. It's like he's completely aimless and has no idea what to do.
He's directionless. Probably surrounded by 'yes men' who tell him that he's making all of the right moves.
"Oh yes Howard....the fans of AGT love you".
"You're America's judge".
"You don't need to talk about Artie anymore".
"Two days a week is good enough".
"Fred's drop special got rave reviews".
"The fans love Howard TV".
"Everyone of your fans supports the lawsuit".
"No one misses the roasts".
"People love the constant replays".
"Your fans love that Fridays are just rehashes of stuff from yesterday".
"Billy West loves you Howard".
Wig doesn't bother me. It's show business after all. Heck, I'd like a wig myself some days!![]()

strangely, i would
That what irritates me the most. Howard has the resources to do amazing (amaaaaazing) things, he has the power to hire great talent and trend every website weekly reaching new people. IMO Howard had sincere plans in the beginning of Sirius but realized once someone subscribed he was being paid regardless, got lazy and older and here we are...
Edit: Howard gets mentioned in the news now but it's for apologizing for calling a fatty a fatty and his agent planting ridiculous items
