Would you respect Howard more if he gave up the wig?

Would you respect Howard more if he gave up his ridiculous wig and just embraced his baldness?

It could be quite liberating for him to not have to live that lie any more.

I would respect him more if he admitted that Beth is publicity craving former slave girl to the Arabs and has fake tits.

I don't think he would look bad bald, very Larry David-ish. Which is probably why he hates him

  4. #4
    Yes.

It's exactly why he wants nothing to do w/ Larry.

no. he would only be doing it out of some ploy. like fishing for respect from his dearly departed fan base. he's told/telling way worse lies that supersede any such shallowness. i feel he's beyond redemption as i can't imagine trusting anything he says/does, whatever it is.

I'd respect him more if he just gave up......He's old now,the world has passed him by, and he's desperately trying to catch up.He should retire and save what's left of legacy.... Disappear now Howard and you could be legend

    too late for this

He should have stopped around 09....some people would say sooner but if he stopped at the end of 09 his legacy would have still been in place

    No.

If Howard admitted to wearing a wig, I would seriously think he would start wearing a latex cap or something. I will never ever ever trust anything he says again.

Besides, we know the drill by now. If he really is sporting a wig, he will have Maryanne or Bobo talk about his hair or something. Thats how he will reveal it (allegedly)

    Most assuredly.

    Wigs are cowardice.

Even if his show was still a dying breed, I would have to give him love as an honest man.

howard's lost a portion of his hardcore fans for good. but if he actually cared about a legacy, he needs to retire from everything immediately and focus on putting his old tapes out there in a way that could gather new, younger fans. no other single show/entertainer has such a vast archive of A material. but he obviously made a decision to go for cash grabs with total disregard for longterm respect. i think he made that very clear as he was pissing on his fans while suing his employer, who has paid him hundreds of millions of dollars.

This seems contradictory to me. If he's already lost his hardcore fans, including myself, then he'd need to go an extra step in the other direction to gain them back. Just retiring and leaving the tapes playing is not enough because the tapes team has proven to be pathetic. I don't even listen to the tapes anymore. The Kinison special was heavily censored and edited. The whitewashing of the 9/11 attack show is also another reason to listen to old fan made tapes than the H100 whitewashed garbage.

The fact is that the underground filesharing groups are light-years ahead of Howard's tapes team. I can request entire years of shows and they'll pass them along within a week. I had someone send me all three 'Fight Week' specials commercial free within a few hours and I threw them on my mp3 player and have listened to them twice through now. I just send someone almost every single Gilbert appearance from the late 80s until 2005. The tapes team can't even keep up with a single fan.

If Howard wants to gain back his hardcore following he needs to put together a final year or two of legendary radio and win everyone back and rebuild his reputation. That last thing we remember him by should be a legendary year in radio. Not working two days a week to do some lame fucking hacky reality TV talent show. Here's what Howard needs:

    - work five days a week
    - hire some comedians to sit in on the show full time like Dave Attell or Paul Mooney
    - hire an impressionist like Aries Spears, a new Billy West
    - fire Benjy and hire a real writer like Anthony Jeselnik or Louis CK
    - produce the roasts and high quality specials again

One year of that would win back a huge amount of fans and push Howard into the daily lives of tons of people. Then the last thing that we will remember of Howard will be that final year where he was on fire every day. After that he can retire and just play the tapes and put out specials.

He's probably over $1 billion in terms of his net worth. Between his K-Rock and Sirius money alone he's pushing that most likely. I cannot understand Howard's motivations at all anymore. It's like he's completely aimless and has no idea what to do.

He's directionless. Probably surrounded by 'yes men' who tell him that he's making all of the right moves.

"Oh yes Howard....the fans of AGT love you".
    "You're America's judge".
"You don't need to talk about Artie anymore".
"Two days a week is good enough".
"Fred's drop special got rave reviews".
    "The fans love Howard TV".
"Everyone of your fans supports the lawsuit".
    "No one misses the roasts".
    "People love the constant replays".
"Your fans love that Fridays are just rehashes of stuff from yesterday".
    "Billy West loves you Howard".

That what irritates me the most. Howard has the resources to do amazing (amaaaaazing) things, he has the power to hire great talent and trend every website weekly reaching new people. IMO Howard had sincere plans in the beginning of Sirius but realized once someone subscribed he was being paid regardless, got lazy and older and here we are...

Edit: Howard gets mentioned in the news now but it's for apologizing for calling a fatty a fatty and his agent planting ridiculous items
