I have been out on many a date with age appropriate women who, if they put just a wee bit of effort into their appearance would be attractive, (slightly more updated clothing, fix their hair) but they opt for the dowdy, Aunt Bee look and I find myself continuing my search. Just because your are a miserable POS with your life/choices doesn't mean everyone else is. She is my best friend. She's also a vegetarian that cooks me steaks and I clean horse stalls, for her horses, when I get home at midnight after being a "hero" all day. It saddens me when a guy says this. One of the greatest things I could wish for someone is to have a lifelong friend who has been through all the wars with you since you were a kid. It is rare that a woman is that person. No woman should replace that person if you are lucky enough to have one.

Just through time and life happenings I don't really have any childhood type buddies left that I am close with. Also, I'm kind of an ass and tend to kick peeps to the curb and hold grudges when they do "non-friend" shit as well. I'm pretty close with a few work partners that I've had over the years. I tend to just have a few buddies and that's enough for me.

I just happen to have an awesome wife and we get along great so no reason to be saddened.

When I look at my wife I'm reminded of all the sacrifices she went through to bring our son into the world. She lost her sense of taste for almost 2 years from some compklication from the spinal they gave her for the c section. And her hand still ache from her wrist swelling up but she still goes to work to help pay the bills. Sure she put on some extra weight but she deserves all the love and respect a person can get. ... Plus her ass can really take a pounding after it spread out some.
