Take the time to sell it on ebay or Craigslist- you'll prolly get twice the $$$ out of it.

Use Craigs list. You can sell the stuff at full price the same day. A pawn shop will give you 1/4 of what its worth at best.

I was blown away when I heard about what people get 'paid' for their stuff at a pawn shop. Seems like you'd be better off trying to sell the thing yourself, or just keeping the thing.

Having said that - selling things yourself can be risky; who knows if it will sell, and if it's a safe transaction. So, I suppose in that regard, I can understand pawning.

Most of the pawn shops I've been to were in bad parts of town and had heavy crack head traffic... not that safe..

I bought my daughter a Pokemon DS game for $7.50 and found out it would have cost about $40 new. So I imagine the kid who pawned it took a huge hit. Although he probably stole it anyway.
