so it'll take 10 hours to get there door to door (or thereabouts) so you'll really have 4 days of vacation. Seems like you could spend the same amount on a place and actually have enough time to relax and enjoy the vacation

Those over the water rooms cost a lot more than $1600/night. Trust me.

Not a spectacular area but we've found some cool shit nearby. Again, we are rubes.

$1600 per night, fuck that I can vacation for a whole week on that. Plus you have to fly 112 hours to get there.

I'm all for luxury, but sure as shit if I'm flying anywhere for more than 8 hours I'm staying for at least 12 days, anything less you're just getting relaxed and you have to leave.

I'd make the trip, stay at a really nice resort for 10 days, and then do the over water bungalow for 2-3 days.

Life is about experiences ... If it turns out to be that bad, then I wont go back... I don't want to make a habit of not doing something because part of it may be an inconvenience ...

Unfortunately we have to fly out of LAX, which I despise (was hoping we could depart from Ontario) ... Airline tickets were a shade under $2100 per person
