Serious question. They tend to film a lot of movies on the side street running alongside my store in Brooklyn. When they do, sometimes they close up the street and/or sidewalk during filming and I have to load trucks through the front of the building instead of through the loading dock. It's not a major inconvenience, but ever since the first time they did it, a PA would usually pop in after they were done and apologize about it and offer me something for the inconvenience. They always ask me for an amount, but I don't want to chase them off so I just tell them to give me whatever seems fit. The amount has varied from as low as $500 to up to $2500. My question is, what is the most I can ask for without spooking the PA and getting put on some don't shoot by this guy's store blacklist? TIA
Actually what you are doing is totally cool.. Between $500 and $2500 is normal.. depends on how much the production has to spend on such things.. every department gets a budget at the beginning of the show and the Locations Department is responsible for dealing with guys like you. Since your store loses foot traffic during shutdowns and are inconvenienced with crap like altering deliveries and shit..they toss you some $$$.. if the store is specifically used as a location for shooting.. your store would make much more.
No.. They simply go to their winnie or back to the hotel and fuck.. and fuck they do.. soooooo many affairs on set.. cast and crew alike. I have some hilarious stories.
That's the thing about the 9-11 Pentagon security cameras the "truthers" don't take into account. Security cameras don't shoot at the same frame rate as video and movie cameras.. so the plane went past the camera but wasn't recorded because it passed through the frame too quickly.

He was up to 2 hrs late many days.. A crew of 100 would sit around and wait because he was in almost every scene.. we calculated with wages, rentals and other production costs is was about $250.00/sec. So his call was pulled back 2 hrs therefore he would be on time even if he was ahem, "late." After this was figured out by someone in his posse he was late again.. He was butt hurt that his "onscreen love" was banging his double and not him.. and he let her know.. shit like that. He was a colossal douche to nearly everyone generally. Most actors are.
How do you think Brad Pitt ended up with Angelina? He was married to Jennifer Anniston after all... until "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" that is.
ETA:
Affairs on set are so common.. if it's not a crew member fucking a cast member there's married crew members fucking each other or married cast members fucking each other. It's insane. When you take 100 people and throw them together for 6 months and 14 hour days shit happens.

I live near a ren faire and have known a few of the actors that perform. They are all very strange hippieish and seem very incestious when it comes to all fucking each other. None of them were hot though.
Once we couldn't find an actor for "after lunch touches" - (after lunch they go to hair/makeup to touch up their hair and makeup) We were at a semi-famous landmark and after a 45 min search we found the actor fucking an extra in the bedroom upstairs of the landmark. Can't blame him, she was very hot.... the scene that day was a high-class frat party and we had about 30 babes (extras) in very sexy evening gowns.
Another time we had to send transport to pick up some STD medicine at a drug store because an actor got crabs from an actress he was banging.. Another time the male cast members were having a blow job contest to see who could get the most BJs from the extras.. I've seen two famous actors try to jump on female crew members without their consent.. and pay them to shut up.. I've seen a director and a couple producers "audition" hot babes for a "breast-groping scene" that was never in the movie to begin with.. I've walked in on crew members fucking.. been hit on a couple times by actresses.. crazy shit happens.

I've worked perimeter security (local police department) on a few movies shot in town and the actors I've met and the crew members I've dealt with have been nothing but cool. Maybe because I do what I'm supposed to and don't get star struck and douchey.
The pay is always good and usually have access to some good grub as well.![]()
Let's just say I cant name names but you definitely know some of them.. Another cute story is did a movie with Vin Diesel.. who has the IQ of a soap dish. We would refer to him as V.D. on the walkie.. and not because they were his initials.
Ya.. the food is off the hook.. Catered breakfast, lunch and dinner.. and yet, some crew members STILL fucking complain. Always amazes me. An actors douche rating is measured by if they eat with the crew or not. 90% of the time "celebrities" don't eat with us lowly peasants.. they have special meals prepared by their own chefs and eat privately in their trailers.. the 10% who eat with the crew are generally day players or cool dudes like Anthony Hopkins who ate with the Grips and Electrics every day.

Looks like OP has left the building, but I'm curious: Maybe I missed it, but what were/are you doing on set??? I was PA/Photographer's Asst./Digital Tech for several years, but only on catalog fashion/still work. Hella fun and good money, but I'm too old for the long days and heavy lifting anymore... If I had it to do over again, I'd have gotten into film, and done it at a much younger age.
