Dishwashers are a necessary evil. No matter how much you pay, they fucking break down, don't do a good job, generally cause you pain and regret. I'd still rather have one than not.

Every dishwasher I've had has been a PITA. A few were rather pricey and still didn't always do a good job. We, especially Mrs. Lemmy, are clean freaks and two of our dishwashers ended up being ant nests. Hand wash and extra cabinet space FTW!

I've done that several times through the years. You gotta get the thick expensive stuff though or it just sucks...



My deal is I won't put dishes etc. in the dishwasher with chunks of food and stuff on them. So by the times I've washed all that shit off I just say fuck it and hand wash them. The exceptions are when I am feeling super lazy or more often, when my hands are fucked up. Like in Winter every year, my hands get really dry to the point of my fingertips cracking and splitting (yes, even with lotions) and hot soapy water stings like a mofo...even with gloves on.

If you really find your dishwasher to be "gross" i assume you mean its got scale and mildew and shit inside then you probably just need to get a new one; they arent supposed to be gross, they should be sparkling clean (at least inside).

With gloves on too??? I thought I had sensitive hands....I also get cracks on my thumbs, have you tried liquid bandage? It definately helps....

It is brand new, I just choose not to use it....my mom creeped me out of dishwashers years ago....
