    My birth mom's only (other) son died at 14 yrs old and her daughter can't have children, so my son is her only grandchild and she has been ecstatic to have an opportunity to be a part of his life.

    Am I really being a selfish prick giving her an oppurtunity to be a Grandma?

    DNA pinned it down and she was able to point me in the right direction, but that's a whole 'nuther can of worms... He doesn't go by his actual surname. Does he even know his "father" isn't his father?

    Im glad it worked out with your birth mom and sister, she knew you existed though, your father has no idea. I have actually wondered how I would feel if this happened because, honestly, the chances are pretty high that it could.     I didn't rush headlong into a reunion with my mom until I had a good feeling for her situation. I'd certainly approach the situation with all due caution and respect for all parties involved.

    The thought that "I'm only thinking of myself" (RM's words) or that I'm being selfish couldn't be further from the truth.
