Even though squatch thinks I'm ruining lives I can't help but think there may be some good to come of it.

My birth mom's only (other) son died at 14 yrs old and her daughter can't have children, so my son is her only grandchild and she has been ecstatic to have an opportunity to be a part of his life.

Am I really being a selfish prick giving her an oppurtunity to be a Grandma?

DNA pinned it down and she was able to point me in the right direction, but that's a whole 'nuther can of worms... He doesn't go by his actual surname. Does he even know his "father" isn't his father?

Im glad it worked out with your birth mom and sister, she knew you existed though, your father has no idea. I have actually wondered how I would feel if this happened because, honestly, the chances are pretty high that it could. Personally, Imnot gonna have hard feelings toward a kid that happened before we got together. Whether I would accept him with open arms would really depend upon the kid. Your father should be told he has a kid though.

I didn't rush headlong into a reunion with my mom until I had a good feeling for her situation. I'd certainly approach the situation with all due caution and respect for all parties involved.

The thought that "I'm only thinking of myself" (RM's words) or that I'm being selfish couldn't be further from the truth.
