Also reminded me of how awesome that Louisville-Houston semi-final game was that year. Gotta try to find it online.

One of the NCAA investigators stated that the only violations they found during the investigation were that the players were selling their tickets to games and also selling their equipment for extra cash. They also stated Valvano and NC State didn't push academics as much as they should have, but they never found that they actually doctored grades. This was all confirmed not just by the NCAA's investigation, but by 5 other investigative bodies that were involved.
