Zakk Wylde meet Ozzy Osbourne through Howard?

Any truth Ozzy hired Zakk while his demo tapes were being played over the air Ozzy then tried to contact him?

Read this in a few rock forums in the past, anyone know if this was the case?

Well, I have zero evidence to back this up other than reading rock magazines in my younger years, but I always heard that Zakk just sent a demo tape to Ozzy's management (basically Sharon). Sharon never liked Jake Lee (of Badlands and Ratt) who was playing with Ozzy after Randy Rhoades died, and supposedly it was just kismet that she heard his demo at the same time that she was looking to fire Jake. I'd never heard of that Howard connection before, but you never know.

EDIT: After thinking about the timeline a bit, it's probably unlikely. From wikipedia,

Now, Ozzy was based out of LA by then, a market Howard definitely wasn't in. On top of that, he was only syndicated on weekends (apparently, I didn't start listening until the 90's so I don't know). So unless Ozzy/Sharon heard it when they happened to be in New York, it's pretty unlikely. Maybe someone who listened in those days could say for sure, but unfortunately it predates Marksfriggin.com
