The Honda motorcycle rider was travelling at approximately 85mph. The VW driver was talking on a cell phone when she pulled out from a side street, apparently not seeing the motorcycle. The rider's reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 20 feet from where the collision took place. All three involved (two in the car and the bike rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at the Motorcycle Fair by the Police and Road Safety Department.

i remember in high school right before prom they brought in this disaster reenactment group, girl was laying on a stretcher in white makeup with blood all over her face, was supposed to be a ghost, telling us this horror story about how her and her friends were partying on prom night and all "died" in a car accident...the acting was horrible and you could barely hear her over the giggling and comments in auditorium...as i recall i think i put down a case of old milwaukee's best that prom night before plowing my girlfriend (now wife) and then driving her home

our local high school started this campaign where kids starting putting bumper stickers on their cars that say JST DRV and there is a pic of a cell phone with a red line through it

the other night i am following a girl down the road with one of these and she is driving and changing her shirt at the same time, totally clueless that what she is doing is just as dangerous

I wouldn't call the guy on the bike innocent. What's he doing 85 in a residential area for? Anyone could miss him at that rate of speed. His closure rate would have put him a few hundred feet away when she checked his direction. No mention of a curve or straight away either. I hate cell phones but I can't blame the driver 100% when the bike was obviously the one flying down the road. She was pulling into traffic and his bike penetrated her car. He may have been way over 85 judging from the looks of the bike shoved in there.
