When I lived in Dallas every year they had ginormous St.P-Day parades and closing off blocks and blocks of roads and traffic. It seemed weird to me but people ate it up

English/Irish food and German food are my least favorite in general. There are probably a couple exceptions but most of it sucks.

My Dad's family is German/PA Dutch. My mom's family's Italian. There was no comparison.

My German grandmom made a good beef stew. Other than that, her food was horrible. Everything was cabbage or gizzards or balls of random, dense, flavorless dough.
Me ex-husband's grandmom (also Dutchie) made instant mashed potatoes for Christmas dinner and thought nobody could tell.

PA Dutch is German. Amnish (PA Dutch) is German. Deutch got coverted to Dutch.
