Apoc Now was great obv, but it got kind of weird and drawn out at the end. Just saw Alien for the first time this year, before I watched Prometheus.. it probably lived up to the hype. I was a big Mad Max guy when it came out, saw it recently and didn't think it stood the test of time. The Jerk was hillary at the time, and it's held up okay.. Love watching Escape from Alc, because everyone wants me to take them out to Alcatraz when they come to visit.. I believe the correct answer to your question is Rocky II, fo a non-guido

Alien and Mad Max were actually shit movies that people remember as being better than they were because Aliens and The Road Warrior were so good.

Apocalypse Now (and The Deer Hunter and Platoon) were decent but also over rated because of our liberal hollywood guilt at the time over Vietnam.

Escape from Alcatraz was a great HBO movie, in the Every Which Way but Loose category, fun watch

Breaking Away I remember got great reviews, but I don't remember much of it, it's weird the way this movie is never replayed.
