Brock was really a 1-hit wonder. The Fernando Rodney and Andre the (San Francisco) Giant were really great the first 1 or 2 times, and he seemed like a cool addition. But his range is very limited and it shows. I get the feeling that if he had been a real working comic for 20 years instead of the beach bumming, he would be amazing all around. Although he's still not quite as bad as Barry Sobel was...

Shane seems fine in audio, but I've only seen one photo of him and he looked like SUCH a douche. Apparently from your report it carries through in video, too bad.

As to your first point, who knows WHICH part of the show is "forced" on Artie and which is his idea? I certainly think the reduction in sports content and the guest comics are Artie's doing, while the has-been-never-was-band tour is clearly the company's doing, but in between who knows.

    By the way, GREAT username.

Ritchie's ok. He could be one of the co-hosts. But definitely not the co-host. He makes a decent punching bag for Artie and seems to take it well. I'd like to see how multiple people sitting in would go. Take some of the load off Art and see how it goes. I'd like to see Vic the guy from Auburn co-host again. He was pretty funny from what i can remember. Just not stover please. ever.

I want to like Brock's skits. He seems like the nicest guy. But my goodness most of those are just brutal. I can't speak for any recent ones though cause i just fast forward straight through just like the music acts.

It takes a lot for me to not like someone. But Shane seems like such a fucking tool every damn night on the look-ins.

Hope this isnt too incoherent it's late. And Bochetti's awesome
I agree with most of this but I strongly disagree on one thing: Bocchetti absolutely sucks.

Ritchie's OK, but its strange to me that so many people go on the show as guests or co-hosts without ever having watched it. He didn't even know about the Joe Buck story.

I love Space Cookie, but it just shits me when he sticks up for the twins. He comes out with some strange stuff - like that segment where he had to name things that he could outrun. Pretty weird, but that's part of the charm I guess.
Remember that Soul Joel guy that he pals around with or gets managed by or whatever? He was weird as fuck when he was on the show! I wonder how many of those $20 Mike Bocchetti 2013 calendars he has under his bed...

    I don't mind Brock's stuff.

Stover sucks. Vic Henley is awesome, but I think he's touring around all the time as Ron White's opener. Maybe that's why they don't use him more, but he'd be good enough to be permanent if it was possible.

As for fruity Shane... On the April 2nd show there's a look-in where he and the Stove are playing pool. As a conversation starter Brent compliments Shane on his hair and says he's wanted to compliment him on his hair for some time now
    Oofah!

It's kind of remarkable, really. People around here are split, sometimes vociferously, about the merits of Rick, of Brocksucker, of Bocchetti or the twins, of other cohosts, of Artie himself, but "Stover sucks" seems to be a universal sentiment.

Artie listeners are united in their distaste for Brent Stover on the show. I don't think I've seen one person defend his performance on TALS.

I guess "Ryan Seacrest with even less personality" isn't the best fit for a comedy show.

Yeah less sports talk is a good thing. No John Sally also pretty please. No big deal to me if they don't know all the details about Artie. Hell I'm pretty sure Vic talked about his brother both times he was on and Artie not recalling any of it the second time.

It's sometimes cute and often sad watching Bocchetti defend the twins. They know theyre there to get shit on. Maybe if he had DTV he could see how often he does it and tone it down. Glad Artie calls him on it.

I also get a weird feeling about Soul Joel. He was standing with Mike's family on his birthday show and Artie just ignored him.

Holy smokes the twins friend was hot!

Worst guest in artie lange show history, absolute fucking talentless hack. He was the white equivalent of Brian Jones, "oh what Im saying isnt funny in the least, ok well I guess that means I should just turn it up a hundred notches and SCREAM THE SAME UNFUNNY SHIT THAT YOU DIDNT FIND FUNNY BEFORE AND NOW YOU WILL BECAUSE IM SAYING IT LOUDER AND REPEATING OVER AND OVER". Sobel also thought that during the segment where they were pretending to have him interview mike when he said "jew lips" that the uproariously laughter was at his stupid unfunny screaming bit and not because of bocchetti so everytime they would laugh at mike he would start screaming his stupid "bit" over mike thinking the laughter was for him. Someone should clip that guys vocal chords and do the world a favor. I bet he wont ever be back on the show

Honestly I didn't mind Jones. While he was incoherent about 38% of the time, I took his ranting as genuine, kindhearted, and not particularly forced. Maybe it seemed different on TV. Sobel, meanwhile, just came off unfunny, grating, and terribly terribly desperate.

Stover talks like a voice-over guy. It's like at any time he could break into an ad for "Mutual of Omaha" or something.

From Jones to Stover to that Mark...................fuck, what is his name K...........Kriegel!, they're all suits. They're never going to offer up anything we haven't heard 1,000 before. Jones will bellow it, but he's still spouting "official" lines.

They need to get more Deadspin guys in there, and focus even more on the underbelly of things. They need to forget trying to do a "straight" sports show. I know they try to straddle the fence but they need to go all the way over to the dark side.

The show continues to be great, by the way, and no, it's not dying.

    It's on a roll!

And Artie continues to be a great interviewer.
