Went Camping/Hiking @ Red River Gorge This Weekend

Had a killer time and the weather was perfect the whole weekend.Friday it had rained in the afternoon pretty good and there was a really dense fog that night in the mountains.I made a fire grilled some steaks and made some potatoes and onions ( big enough pieces I could pull them out)..There was a nice breeze that night and since it had rained the trees were throwing rain all night..Was kinda cool tent wasnt getting wet but still sounded like a nice slow rain.


Sat morn was a little cool. I got up made some coffee,eggs,smokehouse bacon and some biscuits over the fire.Then a nice hike to a huge arch ( almost like Moab cept theres trees )The trees are just starting to change and the colors and weather made it a nice hike Then back to camp for some fried egg and bologna sandwiches to tide us over for an afternoon hike.The weather was perfect..Sunny not a cloud in the sky and right around 70
That night I made some more steaks and fried potatoes over the fire ..Had a few Stellas on ice and set her chair up on one side of the fire and mine on the other.I set up the Ipad and we watched the Avengers while the full moon rose in front of us.Sounds corny but it really was a good night.

Woke this morn to another brisk morn .cooked some sausage,eggs and biscuits.Broke camp and took a drive to another trailhead for a nice 5 mile hike..Another perfect day.Found a place on top of a double arch no wider than 20ft wide a 200ft drop on each side ,but a view that was unbelievable.Next time I go Im going to camp up there.

I didnt take my camera this time.Some of you have seen my photography anyway..Ill take it next time when I go to the top of that arch.Should be some awesome sunrise and sunsetsShe took a few pics on her phone and is going to email them to me..Dunno how they turned out but if any are worth a damn Ill post em ..Was a pretty damn good weekend and I needed the break.
