Even though he's rich, Howard is still an ugly dude with a bad hair system who can't buy A-list status - he and Beth were ignored in Cabo over the winter except for a sympathy invite that Kimmel probably got for them.
Plus even with all of his $, Howard still must feel insecure in the Hamptons among all of the old money and Wall Street people and he is probably trying to guess everyone's net worth in his head at those phony events.
