School worker faces new sex charges
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A security worker already facing sex charges in Virginia Beach has now been charged in Norfolk.
Karen Parker-Chesson with the Norfolk Police Department said officers in Norfolk arrested Patience Perez, 22, Tuesday in connection to an incident that occurred on Feb. 1.
Perez has been charged in Norfolk with two counts of indecent liberties with a child by custodian, use of electronic means for child sex crime or porn, conspiracy to commit felony and solicitation to commit felony.
Friday, WAVY.com learned Perez was facing a charge of felony custodial indecent liberties with a child in Virginia Beach after school officials say they learned of inappropriate contact with a 15-year-old student at Renaissance Academy, where Perez was employed.
Grazia Moyers with the Virginia Beach Police Department said Friday Perez and the student were engaged in a consensual, sexual relationship off school grounds.
Parker-Chesson told WAVY.com Wednesday the charges in Norfolk involve the same victim and an offense occurred within the City of Norfolk.
Perez has since been removed from her position at Renaissance Academy. She remains incarcerated at Norfolk City Jail.
