They are crazy and he's a megalomaniac but I think in the end he knows he's fucked if he tries anything. China will lean on them hard to straighten out and between US, S. Korea and Japan....NK knows what will happen. Lobbing some shells into Seoul would be bad but it's about all they can muster.

They'd likely head north into China rather than South. That border is so heavily mined and fortified that its unlikely many would get thru, especially during a conflict where the pseudo-Maginot Line is also a front line for combat. That's why China wants NK to stfu so they don't have a refugee problem.

China wants a buffer between them and Japan; it's significant that China is concerned they have no control over N. Korea. they don't.

If we do anything we should work on the regular citizens there and make them see that being oppressed and starved by their own government is not a good thing. Then we can just sit back and watch them revolt against the government and take eachother out and any country who looks down on that will be looked at with scorn.
