Does Kristin Bell even draw people to the movie theater?
No...but this is groundbreaking shit. They announced the Kickstarter campaign 7 hours ago, saying they needed to raise $2 million in 30 days.
Right now, they're at nearly $1.5 million.
It's weird that they're getting fans to do the funding, when Warner Bros will profit.
But as for Kristen Bell, the show was about a teenage girl sleuth.
Kristen Bell turns 33 this year.
She looked like she had a career going. Remember that film with Russell Brand "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" where Bell was the lead and Mila Kunis had a minor role?
Now Kunis is an international acclaimed movie star and Bell is on a litttle-watched Showtime series, and she's carrying Dax Shepard's baby.

Veronica Mars was a great show, that deserved better treatment..
Uh-oh..................She's getting the ass that won't go away![]()
So sayeth the Snot!!!! ...........
Veronica Mars was an awesome show. I support this...well, the campaign, not with actual money.
Anyone else find it unlikely that a high school student in Southern California spits out lines like Rosalind Russell in His Girl Friday? In the conversations I've overheard, girls that age are unintelligible cunts.
Some asshole donated $10K to have one line in the movie: “Your check, sir.” I'm pretty sure this shit isn't tax deductible.

I liked the show. I'd enjoy the movie.
Making dollar signs like Ted DiBiase.
Yeah, you suckers stake us for a movie so we can spend our millions on a huge home, limos, assistants, and clothes. We'll be sure to share the profits.
I've been following another project where $50K was raised. It's about 2 years past the promised date. They did complete the documentary, but it looks like they sold it to the BBC as "first run" rather than give donors DVD's of it first like promised.
I can't imagine dropping more than $100 or so on this sort of thing.

I didn't watch the show, but this is exactly the kind of thing that'll do modestly in theaters - enough to recoup its budget but little more, but it will kill on DVD and Netflix.
I wish more high profile projects took this approach.
Someone's colostomy bag is full...
Word.
And they will.
And I love how a great idea completely blows by the target...........................
