Question Attn Dawgs Chefs/Cooks: Non-Stick, Stainless Steel, or Cast Iron?

    What's your preference in cookware?

Cast iron. I have 3 sizes plus a grill pan. Great stuff

Not non-stick! That is bullshit! Except for certain jobs.

You can't brown anything in a non-stick skillet. And if you use a stainless skillet, it IS nonstick if you know how to use it right. (Heat the pan. THEN add the oil. Then let the oil heat up, then add the food. Wahla. Your food will not stick.)

    Thank you.

And I'm not picky about brands, but I like All-Clad. I have Cuisinart that I don't even know if they make anymore, it's over 20 years old and it's great.

Cast iron, you can't get much more non-stick than that

I use it for everything except for acidic stuff

Anyone try the ceramic nonsticks they advertise late night? Teflon touching my food is off putting.

Actually yes, I have one. It is great. I got one at Bed Bath and Beyond. It's not a high-end one (aeternum is the brand) so you can't bash it around too much or the ceramic layer chips.

    First choice is cast iron.

    Second is stainless steel.
