buddhism is pretty awesome as a philosophical tradition.

i don't care about it as a religion. but what i noticed is that every buddhist i know and/or meet talks in that faggy white guy buddhist voice. the philosophy doesn't teach it. the religion doesn't teach it. but all the white people who become buddhists start talking like it. how come?

ever go to a conference or speaker on buddhism? like jack kornfield or someone like that? they have this soft spoken, thoughful cadence to their voice an their voice sounds airy and ethereal. then they ask for questions from the audience and everyone who goes to the mic and asks a question emulates the speakers vocal qualities. it's nauseating and demeaning.

I want to say it is a mirroring technique but I will pay better attention.

what if i think that all buddhists talk with that faggy affectation because the only people i identify as buddhists have that faggy affection and i don't notice all the buddhists who don't talk with it.
