Dink what would you do if you saw an old friend of yours had posted a pic of his grandchild on facebook, and it looks like the poor kid was a down syndrome baby, but they mentioned that fact to you. Do you ask about it? Ignore it like you don't see it? I need to know how to handle this brah.

i think if you just ask what's wrong with the kid and how long it'll take for the kid to get over it i think you'd be fine.

I perhaps would have taken the opposite approach, and upon seeing the child, become all wild-eyed and start pointing at the kid in a panicked motion, asking "OMFG, is that kid a retard?!!!".

but seriously, don't mention it if they don't unless you're like super tight with him. i have one buddy who if he had a kid with developmental disabilities he'd be all like "he might be retard, but he's a cute little bug eye."
