I took my 6 year old to see it. It was just okay... Started out too slow and then dragged on.

The premise of the movie was cool - precursor to the wizard of oz, but all in all,not worth going to see. Just my opinion...

It was okay. My 7 year old was asking "Is it almost over?" towards the end, as were other kids around me.

It's not anywhere near as charming or lighthearted as the original obviously. It's like a Tim Burton version. They tied into the original in some cool ways tho. I'd say it's worth seeing if you're a fan of the original, but no rush. Blu ray would be just fine. If you are going to see it in a theater, I wouldn't pay the extra for IMAX or 3D. The 3D was pretty much non-existent except for a couple of "BOO!!" moments that were filmed just for the 3D effect.

My BIGGEST gripe is the fact they blatantly give away the "twist" in the first minute of the opening credits. WHY they added that not-so-little Easter egg is mind boggling.

Howard should be happy. I kinda look at him as the Wizard from the original movie.

I'm not recommending that folks go see it but IDK that the extra couple bucks for 3D wasn't worth it. All of the movies now offer subtle depth as not to give you a headache. I thought the 3D was done well. There were a dozen times or so that it "jumped out at you", but the visual depth of the screen was well presented.

It has Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams, so Dad dragged the little shits to see them. Dad hoped to have some new rub-out material.

BTW it grossed $70M overseas in addition to the $80M in the U.S.

You couldn't be more wrong. Mila Clitoris is fucking weak. I wanted to take my son to see the Jack and the Bean Stalk one but was over ruled by the wife.

Those women (Rachel Weisz excluded, she's gorgeous) do zero for me as well.

All she had to do was be prettier than Jake Gyllenhaal.

Was there an huge CG battle at the end? That seems to be a new staple.

It was garbage. I really expected more from Sam Raimi, but aside from a few trademark moments, it was pretty stale.

It looks great and I liked the final big scene, but almost everything leading up to it seemed like it was just that: a bunch of nothing leading up to the ending. Mila Kunis is not a good enough actress for the role she was playing and her makeup was awful.

Also, there was a lot of strange, almost creepy sexual innuendo that felt very out of place for an OZ movie meant for children.

That's another thing. I'm not sure this was meant for children, but for babies! Kids so young they don't care about what's going on in the movie as much as bright colors and loud noises.

I actually liked Michelle Williams as Glinda. She's a sweetheart.

I'm flagged for taking the nephews and nieces to this...I might have to smuggle in a pint of booze and let someone else drive.

People need to see this movie, it has to make enough money so that Sam Raimi can make Evil Dead 4.
