Saw The Mars Volta in 2003 , Deloused In The Comatorium tour, they didn't open for anyone, but if they did, the following act would have been a letdown.

I love U2 but that wasn't my favorite album/tour. I was really into Oasis at the time and they were just SO good.

Mars Volta is one of the best concerts I have ever seen. What an incredible band

    Yup, shame they broke up.
Were at their best when Jon Theodore was drumming, IMO.

Yea, I am hoping that they will be one of those bands that will still get together sparingly, but from what I remember it was kind of a messy breakup

weezer is so fricking good live. they're so much heavier playing live than you'd ever guess listening to their albums.

Hard to believe, but I saw a Canadian band called the Trews open for Robert Plant, and i enjoyed the Trews more. Plant rearranged 5 or 6 of his and Zeps songs, and i wasn`t impressed. He made 2 Zep songs into reggae songs.

Dio opening for Aerosmith...Dio had just released his first solo record and Aerosmith were at the lowest depths of their drug addicted dysfunctionality. The crowd actually turned on Aerosmith and they had to cut their set short.

Bad Brains opening for RHCP....it wasn't even close.
