What opening band have you seen that blew the headliner outta the water?

Ministry was right before red hot chili peppers and totally destroyed them. I left after 4 songs

I saw Foo Fighters open for Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
I saw Weezer play before Linkin Park.
The Distillers were the first band on the main stage at the last travelling Lalapalooza......they were great.

weezer is so fricking good live. they're so much heavier playing live than you'd ever guess listening to their albums.
you just don't turn it off.

Saw them on that tour, left after 3 A7X songs. Coheed shredded em.

AC/DC was always one of my favs. I saw Yngwie open up for them in 85 (I think) and I thought he blew them away which really disturbed me for some time.

Metallica, opening for Ozzy in '86 or so, I think the Bark at the Moon tour. Last Metallica tour with Cliff.

My vote as well......it was Metallica opening for Ozzy. Metallica was Master of Puppets and Ozzy was Ultimate Sin. Ozzy during Bark at the Moon was great (I believe Motley Crue opened on that tour however)......he seemed coked out and high on hairspray for Ultimate Sin. Saw Cliff for Ride the Lightning and Masters!

KISS was great on their first reunion tour in '96.....went to see them again a few years later and they blew. Ted Nugent opened and destroyed them.

You're right, was the Ultimate Sin tour.

Also saw whatever KISS tour it was that Night Ranger opened for them. Call me crazy, but Night Ranger blew kiss away that evening.

I saw that tour. Actually it was the last U.S. date with Cliff. Hampton coliseum 1986.
the crew played pranks on them the whole set....dropping shit on Lars from the lighting trusses and taking away his drum kit while he was still playing.
they left him with a bass, snare, high hat and one crash.

    Metallica totally stomped Ozzy.

While I am not a huge slayer fan, I must this is absolutely laughable.
What is the truth, what is the faithful lasting proof?
What is the central theme to this everlasting spoof?
