What is the most disturbing thing you have ever experienced/seen/heard?

I've seen monks self-immolate on youtube (saw one, that was enough). Couldn't imagine seeing someone die that way, in person, in a car wreck. Shit is messed up

Burning to death is among my worst ways to die top ten. Like those people in the cab in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago. They got smashed up between two cars and could not get out.....Hellish way to go.

We were doing a job in downtown LA one time and some street girl got stabbed. So we call 911 and get the paramedics to come. They get there and we're all crazy and running in circles, "She's stabbed! She's stabbed!"
The fucking paramedics are just walking around to get the body board thing, closing the doors of the ambulance and looking around and shit. So I'm liked, "She's dying help her, help her!" And the guy goes, "Oh that's just Mary she gets stabbed once a week, she'll be alright."

Turns out she was some street cracky and they all knew her by sight. They were so jaded they didn't give a fuck

You would have to be jaded and have 2" thick callouses around your heart to do that kinda work. Dead people freak me out a little bit, but people who have massive injuries but are alive and conscious is more than I like to even think about....

Being buried alive and drowning out at sea are probably a close second to that kind of death

Most fucked up stuff I've seen on video would be some of the real death videos. I saw one, can't remember the name, that was 100% real and not a Faces of Death video. It was gruesome. Had some guy in middle east getting shot in the face in public - smoke just kind of started rising from the hole in his mouth/cheek and he kind of just panted and died. Another had his limbs tied between 4 horses - can't remember if horses pulled him apart (I'd probably remember if they did)...and I saw the Daniel Pearl video, ugh. Nasty. I haven't seen anything like these in a while, not my thing...you see it once and it sticks with you though.

Sorry, don't mean to turn this into "war story" time BUT.......

About 15 years ago we had this 70-ish year old drunkie broad that lived with some 35 year old guy. Every few weeks, at least, we'd get a call for a fight at their lovely abode. She stabbed, hit, cut, bludgeoned, punched, scratched that poor bastard constantly. We'd arrest her and do follow ups with social services but he'd always resist prosecuting her and stay by her side. Thank goodness for him that she finally croaked because she would have killed him eventually.

I would say that I am absolutely jaded and I without a doubt rarely give a fuck BUT that does not mean that I don't do a thorough and good job. After a while you just don't care (generally) because of the nonstop lunacy you deal with daily.
