I hate being bipolar, its awesome.

No, I don't believe so. No reason to change it more often though given the oil I use and use of the car. The Blackstone Labs oil analysis agrees with me as well. Any more often wouldn't make me a "freak"......just wasteful (IMO).
Flushing brake fluid and changing antifreeze every two years, changing fuel/transmission/air filters, lubing suspension joints and various cables/hinges/pivots, removing and touching up undercarriage corrosion every Spring, draining/changing differential/manual transmission/transfer case lube as required, packing bearings, rotate tires, inspect breaks and any other recommended maintenance on two cars, a pickup truck, riding lawn mower, tractor and assorted small engines does take a bit of time. Plus normal washing/waxing/cleaning. Does that qualify?![]()
BTW... If you think an oil change makes your car run better...you might just be a feag/ etc/ect
I'm 2000 miles past my oil change. I blew an engine before, also.I suck at this
As long as the level is fine it shouldn't matter much. Most places err on the cautious side with recommended change intervals.
I bought a '67 Cougar with 185k on it. Ran great! I went to change the oil and had to cut the filter off since it was seized in place. It took a few hours and the filter was HEAVY since it was packed solid with crap. I think it was original to the car. The owner never changed the filter......just kept the level up. Obviously not recommended.
2000 miles isn't so bad with newer cars because they run so much cleaner. (less carbon emissions) That's what dirties up your oil. It's also what puts wear on the parts since it's basically silicone. (dirt) Bottom line: The cleaner you keep it the longer it will last.
A friend of mine had a saying - a clean car is a happy car![]()
