She's a scumbag. She's trying to avoid an unpopular layoff by masking it in some anti-telecommuting horseshit. And now Best Buy is doing it too.
Bank of America and AT&T did the same thing.
it's the new way to lay off people. give them the opportunity to work from home. Then, when you need to cut labor costs, tell them that they have to come into the building or lose their job...even when "the building" is in the next state or 100 miles away.
So, either they have to sell their home and move or they quit, which allows yahoo to avoid paying any type of severance.
The justice department should look into this.
Shes making her company profitable again, and therefore saving countless jobs, Einstein... Wasn't too long ago that Yahoo was considered all but dead by most in the industry (which would have resulted in the loss of a substantial amount of jobs) ... Anyone with even a small amount of business sense would know that productivity and quality control almost always decreases when an employee works from home (unsupervised).... A good leader will never be all things to all people ..Pissing some people off along the way is just part of doing business.
She wasted the bonus building a baby's room next door to her office at work.
I would have been all 'bitch, wtf do you think you're doing bringing your festering bacterial mega-plex to work?'
I've witnessed it first-hand in my own career... One person with the right vision & management ability can absolutely turn the attitude of a company (and it employees) around... .. Shes obviously doing just that
