How does one make The Civil war, WWII, and the Vietnam war "sappy and flowery"?
The musical theme in The Civil War is "The Ashokan Farewell." It's just a beautiful melody, full of melancholy and pathos. To me it evokes the overwhelming sense of waste and loss that sums up the Civil War. I can't hardly hear it without tearing up.
