Wow this one is a real shame, love him and Ten Years After. Rest in peace great axgrinder, you will be missed.
Rumor is that he was set to perform much later at Woodstock, but since early on they were unable to transport artists to the stage area they had to work with who was around the stage, apparently Alvin got rather stoned and was told to get ready as they are going on in minutes. Going Home originally by Helicopter, was a song they pulled out of the blue as they needed to fill time so they thought this would be a great free form jam song, and they were right, great song, great version.
