I contend that it could, but not as big as it ended up being. Too many more social distractions and media outlets around today. it certainly wouldn't be shocking.

It just all depends on the players. I think Billy West, Jackie and Fred in their prime (before Fred basically retired) could make a new show successful. I'm not so sure a solo Howard Stern Show would have ever taken off, then or now. I would even go so far as to say that the late 90's to mid 2000's incarnation of the show with more staff interaction and the classic wack pack would have been able to do it. The lesson we've learned is that Howard is very good at hiring talented people to surround himself with, but was never the real talent of the show.

Funny is funny and the glory days of the HSS were FUNNY! With Jackie, Billy and Fred. Booey wasn't Mr. Dell'abate. They wrote bits. Howard wasn't a PC pussy. He was an everyman, who the audience related to.
Yes, THAT show could be successful today.
yes!
just look at seinfeld. the show is still great even when it's an episode you've seen 20 times.
☃ "There are entire websites dedicated to how ugly my wife is."
i dunno.i think it might not be edgy enough today, although the bits Jackie and Fred wrote are basically timeless.
ok, who writes "goo goo at a at a, fukin jew heeb"?
"fuckyoubigot i dont like you're sig" "repeated annoying comments"
The Lord is not my Shepherd for I am not a sheep.
It would be huge nationally because people would share clips on youtube or whatever. Too bad the show is a piece of shit compared to what it was back then.
No terrestrial radio is forever been bastardized by gigantic monolithic radio corporate conservative bullshit.
No. In the end, Howards show was only successful if you, the listener, was in the dark. That's not possible with the social media of today.
The above is strictly my humble opinion.
