I know that too many people are in love with DST for it to ever go away, so I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that it will always be around in some form.
However, it used to start in April and end the last week of October. I would be OK with that. By April the weather in most parts of the country has started to turn spring-like. Now it starts technically before winter is even over, in the beginning of March, and ends in the beginning of November.
You can't just "go to bed an hour earlier" to make the adjustment all better. If it were that simple, people wouldn't be developing health issues over it. It screws with people's circadian rhythms.
There is always a discussion in Yahoo comments every year on this. You always see ignorance at its finest. There are actually people who believe that we should have Daylight Saving Time year round, thinking that it will really make the days as long as they are in the summer.
I'd kill myself if I lived in Alaska or in Scandinavia. Way too much darkness.
we're mutants in AZ. we never spring forward or fall back.
