On my way to work I could smell anti-freeze inside the vehicle and there was steam coming from my vents and a film forming on the windshield. I shut the heat off but it was still coming out a little. I assumed it was the heating core. By the time I got to work it was much worse and I got out and coolant was pissing out of this:



I can't find any sign of a hose or any other place where the other end would go but I'm at work and won't have the time to get under it until the morning. Any help would be appreciated.

what you described is usually a blown heater hose but that cap is probably a faulty relief valve

The hoses that go into and out of the firewall are up top. I believe there is a leak in the heater core. My plan was to take off one hose and close the loop bypassing the heater core. At least this would get me home albeit with no heat. But this opening at the bottom is concerning me. I'm hoping it's just a valve to dispell the coolant that leaked but it was pissing out like crazy and I want to be sure.
