Anybody else say this to their significant other?

"Just turn around, and walk away".

Anybody? I rather think it's just a polite thing to say sometimes. Especially if you love the person, and don't really want to lose or kill them.

Doesn't sound like anything someone in a healthy relationship would say. Reminds me of one of the last fights with my ex-wife

Well, I gotta ask then: "chill" or not, we're all humans. You have GOT to get frustrated as hell with him sometimes. And I bet sometimes the guy keeps yapping.

I'm wide open on any other way to deal with shit. I just find that "walking away" and "cooling down" is usually most helpful.

Slow down. What if I have to say that because I am not handling something well? And he's just trying to help, but doing it in a way that frustrates me more?

I'm not trying to be a bad person. Neither is he.

Walking away for a few minutes does not indicate a bad relationship. I think it's healthy. As well as TELLING the person they should just walk for a moment, so I can regain my composure.

I agree that walking away is very healthy. If there's a possibility of things getting physical if you dont, then that is a personal issue that should be addressed.

I agree with the walking away, but to order them off like that is more confrontational, because they can argue back at that point. Instead, you take the initiative and walk away yourself.

Awwwwwwww hell. Getting physical is something very, very different.

I only dealt with that once in life.

It was rough.

I was addressing "normal" life shit. This attitude/behavior is normal. "Walk away, stop talking".

Truthfully, I can likely hurt somebody way more with my words, than my ex-husband ever did with his fists. And you have to realize that, and make sure you don't do it.

Hence: "walk away" - before I say something so hurtful, you won't be able to forgive me
