I just stated reading 'Rise and Fall of the Third Reich' the other day.
William Shirer did a good job with that subject. He also wrote Berlin Diary which was a day by day account of Nazi Germany in the years leading up to the war.

The reason I picked this book up at this time was I just finished that Erik Larson book 'In the Garden of Beasts' which was about the US Ambassador to Germany in 1933/34.
I have a hard time understanding that period of time, and how it came to be.
