Aren't really scary anymore. Just sort of mildly repulsive, like what I imagine animal god will look like in a few years.

In the world of the dead it is the living that should be feared.

Were they every scary? Im not a fan of walking dead its just to tired of an idea and it gets way too much praise. People rant and rave about its so great yet anyone on this fucking forum (well almost anyone) could of wrote the show when they pitched it to tv in the first place. "Hey network guy remember that scene in 28 days later in the beginning in the hospital and the guy walking the isolated streets, well we pretty much just use that entire scene as an hour series premiere and then after that its just a group of people changing locations every so often and killing zombies and bickering at each other. One week they are holed up on a farm and kill zombies, then they are in a prison and kill zombies then next week they will be _____ and I wonder whats gonna happen? Maybe some zombies will get killed? Maybe there will be some kind of stupid chase where characters are put at risk for no other reason than to try and drum up some suspense which they havent been capable of doing. The only thing that could make me tune into walking dead is if they have an episode where that whore wife gets her head blown off, most unlikable annoying character on tv.

Whoa whoa whoa wordsmith, take it easy
I've watched the series since day one and its VERY overrated. Alot of times you know whats going to happen and/or going to be said. Theres no originality at all. But i still watch cuz I like zombies and its not a reality show (which takes up most of the programming on tv). I think they could have done such a better version of a zombie tv show.
Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside while still alive.
Also the killing of the zombies is inconsistent...like you're supposed to shoot them in the head (brain) to kill them but alot of times you'll see someone shoot them in the cheek and they go down. Stupid shit like that bothers me.

what did they just pick up off the road?
ah yeah yeah. thanks.
From scary to mildly repulsive might be a reflection of the desensitizing the characters feel. Used to be a big deal to kill this shambling biting thing that used to be friends, neighbor, family, now its routine, like taking out the trash.
