Howard absolutely DID say that he didn't know if Artie wanted to come back. I'm 100% positive he said it once, and he might have said it multiple times. The reason I remember it well, is because of how ridiculous of a statement it was. Yeah he also said something about not knowing when to bring him back, which Artie alluded to. The point is that he's sort of dodged the issue and has not really given a great reason why he won't have him back, even as a guest. I do think there's a good possibility that Howard will have Artie in as a guest for only one reason. If Howard doesn't have Artie in while he's is promoting his book, he'll look like the biggest asshole in the world, even to his most loyal fans, especially after Artie has specifically expressed a desire to promote his book on Howard's show.

Howard has looked like an asshole many, many times: Howard is an asshole. His fans still with him, haven't cared in the past, I doubt they will if Artie never appears during the book tour.

Hi Mugsysam...just my two cents:

I'm all for these guys contributing; I think more is better and Gunnar/Rodney seem to have some decent insights. However, something is driving the negative feelings towards them and I hope they'll do their part to change it; legitimate or not.

There are ALOT more people on this forum that will side with you, Cap, Sternski, etc...including me...but I'd hate to see it come down to competing threads...

I really think it was great to hear Jackie and it sounded like they genuinely got along well and had a great time reminiscing. Hopefully Jackie will be back again.

well I guess we just have to agree to disagree because I've listened to every show front to back since the incident until now, and I never heard him say that. He's only talked about Art a handful of times since Art recovered so I doubt he said it multiple times.

If you can produce audio/video, that's great. Because I can show you a clip from YouTube, that's been posted here, where Howard said he talked to Artie and mentioned that he wanted to come back but doesn't know if that was best for his situation.

And if you heard this show after he talked to Jackie, a caller asked about him going back to promote his book and Art said he doesn't even care to promote his book there, that he didn't want to go back just to go hang with the guys again.

You question my recollection of what Howard said, and then you go on to say that you've basically listened to every hour of the Stern show since Artie left and that Howard has only talked about Artie a handful of times, which is nonsense. He's talked about him way more than that over the last 3 years. Anyone can go on MarksFriggin and check. So right there, your credibility is shot.

Secondly, the proof, you say you can supply, is about something I already agree that he said. You are aware that he could have said both things, right?

Thirdly, what you said, about Artie talking about not wanting to back just to go hang with the guys, is the direct opposite of what he said. He said he DID want to go back to see the guys. So, I don't know what the hell you're talking about. Yeah, he did say he didn't care about promoting the book, but he said that right before he said he wanted to go back and see the guys. He was just trying to say that seeing his friends there would be the primary reason to go back.

My point wasn't that he wanted to go just to promote the book. I was saying that he obviously wants to go back on the show very much, and it's strange that Howard still hasn't had him on, in the last 3 years, even as a guest. Maybe Howard's waiting for approval from his own psychiatrist.
