Well, he did throw a party for Howard, so I doubt he's trying to distance himself. He probably knows Howard's such a fucking reclusive weirdo, having him around once every six months is no big deal.

Callers on every show almost always blow ass, the main reason why I cant stand talk radio most of the time (especially sports talk). Howard's show used to be different. If they were bad he'd insult them and hang up. If they were good they were usually entertaining, and Howard would go with it. That being said, remember that he had phony callers back in the day as well, usually callers with particularly ludicrous stories. Fact.
