    Dawgs Playlist

So the much ballyhooed "creative" meetings came up with gems like JD's Playlist, like anyone cares what that mumbling moron listens to.

The idea itself is completely derivative. About 2 years ago, "list the first ten songs that appear on your iPod shuffle" was all over Facebook.

With that being said, it was kinda cool picking apart your FB friends' playlists and bagging on them, online. Plus, you don't actually have to listen to the songs (unlike JD's Playlist).

It only works if you, unlike anything on THSS, are honest about your playlist. Don't leave out that Asia song you downloaded. Cassette and 8-track entries are acceptable as well.

    Here's mine:

    1. Teddy's Jam - Guy
    2. Outro (Featuring Nio Tha Gift) - Tajai x Sleeprockers
    3. Granite Earth - Opio
    4. Radio - Jurassic 5
    5. How High (Remix) - Method Man & Redman
    6. Big Poppa - Notorious B.I.G.
    7. Put Her In The Buck - 2 Live Crew
    8. Hangin' On A String - Loose Ends
    9. Rock The Casbah - The Clash
    10. Rockin' It - The Fearless Four

    I've always liked you.

No, really. I have. Even before this.

But ditch the Lou Reed if you want to make it on the "bro" list.

no, but i can really enjoy it when people cover their tunes. does that count?

also, somebody mentioned that they launched a million bands, because when a lot of people heard them they thought "i can fucking do that!", and picked up a guitar. so that's cool.

i just can't get my head around the whole "lack of talent" thing, and that "talk-sing" thing lou did/has basically always done. and he bums me out. he seems like the saddest of cats. it's understandable, and i sympathize; i just don't want to hear from him.

that's how i am with dylan. can't listen to him, but love a number of covers.

bauhaus may have been one of those bands . i know they were big vu fans.

the 1st velvets album is one of my all time favs. nothing he did after that has touched it, but i liked that album so much i had to check out all his other stuff.

    Nice shitpiles! You deserve 'em.

Like I said, you don't have to listen to them, that's just what was on my list.

I like underground and old school rap music, and you apparently don't, big fucking deal.

    Errr, errr, whatever...

What I'm saying is that playlists are subjective. What's good to you may suck to me.What's good to JD may suck to you.

    I hear what you're saying.

Honestly, the point wasn't to list songs to say whose playlist sucks and whose doesn't. For me, at least, it was just to see what kind of music you guys are in to and post some feedback on it, playlists, single songs, artists, whatever...

My 15-year old son would love your playlist (and I don't mean that as a slight). He's really into a lot of the bands on your list.

i'm not sure if i understand this right... were we supposed to put 10 songs we actually like a lot, or 10 random songs spewed out of itunes shuffle?

well, doesn't matter. i'm going to list 10 songs i like, because i tried itunes shuffle and the songs are horrid that came out (not that i'm embarrassed of them, but just that i don't listen to or even like many of them).

so the following is a typical vaginapoosie playlist that makes my ears happy:

    1. "on the turning away (delicate sounds of thunder)" ~ pink floyd (in honor of TDSotM's 40th anniversary)
    2. "i'll believe in anything" ~ wolf parade
    3. "after hours" ~ we are scientists
    4. "witchcraft" ~ pendulum
    5. "midnight city" ~ m83
    6. "ceiling of plankton" ~ the givers
    7. "sleepyhead" ~ passion pit
    8. "suite: judy blue eyes" ~ crosby, stills and nash
    9. "alphaboot [dunproofin']" ~ alphabeat vs. the futureheads mash-up
    10. "the cave" ~ mumford & sons

that was hard to do. my real playlist of awesomeness is more like 100 songs.
