this country is drifting away from coal, we have plenty of clean air & water regulations that have made our air & waterways greatly improved since the 70's .....so what are you cunts whining about?

but its improving & has been since the 70's & will continue to do so. la is kind of a victim of its environment with the mountains holding that shit in & lack of any public transport for such a populated spread out city

Yeah, sure, but the point was, it's still kind of gross.

I can't understand how such a huge, major metropolitan area has no subway to speak of.

It's ridiculous.

NYC could never survive without the mass transit we have in the NY-Metro area. I can get into Penn station in under an hour and I'm in lower-central NJ, equidistant to both NYC and Philly.

Getting to Philly is the same. It's awesome.

I dunno man, where I live is a little different. Lignite strip mine and two lignite power plants within a few miles of each other, and they were rush built so they could be grandfathered in before the EPA took effect. Also an abandoned oil refinery left to rot. Everyone and their dog has cancer or COPD but GodDamn don't let them hear the Feds might be coming around to check on things.... It's kinda like in The Hills Have Eyes......

Then there's the oil refineries on the New Jersey turnpike between Carteret - Linden - Newark...makes everyone think the entire state smells like that.
