Great writing, great acting, blockbuster quality on a cable channel. They have long uninterrupted seasons that don't ruin plot points by drawing them out too far. They have the entire first and second season available on demand because they know that letting new viewers catch up is more valuable in the long run than DVD sales.
Probably the only series out there that is really worth the time.

Season 3 is based on the first half of "A storm of swords" which is highly regarded as the best book of the series. They hardly have to try this season and next. Everyone who's read the books can't wait to see your faces on the last 3 episodes.

Can't wait. One of the few shows where, when the episode is over, I can't believe almost an hour has passed. We subscribe to HBO just for its run, you've got to throw some money at them for doing something so well.

This season and next will be the best of the show unless they somehow inexplicably manage to fuck up the source material....no reason to think they will.

The first half of book 3 was actually quite boring. They gotta drag out book 3 though because 4 and 5 are a mess. I kinda doubt they ever make them. I'm embarrassed i ever liked the show.

HBO does this a lot. When The Sopranos season seven aired (the last season) they couldn't show previews beyond the first episode because Tony got shot in the first episode. So any fans who saw clips that were from beyond the first episode would know that Tony of course lives. No one wanted to spoil that. After the episode where Tony got shot, HBO showed no preview even for next week's episode, they just left it at the credits and went to the next hour of programming.

LOST was so bad that you could literally only watch the previews and "last time on LOST" clips and get the gist of the entire show. You'd miss nothing. The best show with trailers and previews was Arrested Development. They literally had nothing to do with the plot and or the next episode or season. They were parodies of television trailers and previews, pretty brilliant stuff.

The third Ice and Fire book is huge. They had to cut lots of stuff out so that only the really important events happen in season three. So this season is pretty much wall to wall important events happening. With very little wandering and filler.

She and a couple of other actresses signed 'no nudity' clauses after the first season. So you'll have to go back and jack it to season one. There's still lots of nudity coming up this season of course.

Depending on how far the show gets she'll have to be nude constantly. Books four and five have her nude like crazy. Lena Headey's been nude in lots of stuff. But I know she's covered in tattoos. So it might be cheaper just to have a body double. CGI is actually really expensive and body makeup to cover tattoos is also a major pain in the ass. They'll just get some 20-year-old broad to show her tits and snatch on film instead.

Half of the movies she's in I think she's somewhat undressed. But Game of Thrones is medieval. So a broad covered in all sorts of 'biker' style tattoos is going to be distracting.
