    The Dr. Drew hypocriscy

Ok, Robin and Ralph blast Dr. Drew for putting addicts and alcoholics on TV to shameless exploit them, but how is that different than what Howard did to Hank? So it is ok to give a raging alcoholic alcohol and use his inebriation for a comedy bit, but it is immoral to try to treat addicts and alcoholics on TV with licensed addictions specialist and doctors for entertainment?

Howard talked about the number of deaths of Celebrity Rehab participants, but how about the death toll of Wack Packers? Hank. Kenneth Keith. Andrea almost died because of her alcoholism that Howard happily fed. Bigfoot is in custody because of his mental illness that Howard exploited.

All I know is that if Hanzi is on his medication when he does his show he can forget about doing a second show.

So are Howard's guests. Difference is that Howard puts a bottle of Vodka in their hands while Dr. Drew tries to rehab them.

Last I checked Howard and crew hadn't taken an oath to do no harm while Pinsky did and proceeded to use "people on their last legs" like Stripes called em to line his wallet with fake bullshit rehab that you "graduate" from after a few weeks and then are sent on your merry way with another check to drink, smoke or shoot up.

I loved when Howard used to say he didn't care if Artie did heroin as long as he was funny on the show. That's ok. If Howard tried to stage an intervention on the air, he would be a despicable scumbag.

So it is ok to encourage an alcoholic to drink himself to death at age 40 for good radio as long as you haven't sworn the Hippocratic Oath?

I am not saying that what Dr. Drew does is right, but that doesn't excuse what Howard does which is worse considering he encourages people to spiral to oblivion chasing their demons for radio. Hank. Sam. Andrea. Artie. The list goes on with people he helped to drive to death or near death for the sake of his show.

Mike Starr, bassist for Alice in Chains, and Joey Kovar, a "Real World" participant. Los Angeles riots spark Rodney King and actor Jeff Conaway also have passed away. Starr and Kovar overdosed and King was found dead in his pool with alcohol and marijuana in his system. Conaway was initially thought to have overdosed, but died of pneumonia and an infection

"Ok" is subjective but besides the point I never said it was ok for Howard to do it.

Sorry but what Pinsky does is far worse considering the position he elected to take for himself and the oath he made. Howard is just an asshole while Pinsky is supposed to be a responsible member of a responsible profession.

I think the problem is with Robin saying that Dr. Drew exploits these people while Howard was exploiting them too. I'm not saying Dr. Drew isn't wrong for his exploitation but the hypocrisy of the Stern show condemning Dr. Drew is ridiculous.

I disagree. I think what Howard does is far worse. Pinsky most likely thinks he is helping the celebrities he has on his show. Whether it is right or the best way to get these people rehabilitated, he probably thinks he was helping.

Howard clearly didn't care if people like Hank lived or died as long as they provided good radio on the way to death. He even helped them move closer to death by fueling their addictions. It would be like one of us going to an AA meeting and passing around alcohol to see what they would do for our own personal amusement.

What Dr. Drew does may be really irresponsible. What Howard did was heartless. Both are wrong, but only one had even a slightest sliver of good intentions.

Howard didn't have anything to do with those wackpack misfortunes. Big Foot is 10x the exploiter than Howard is. He just ran out of people to use up. That's why he's locked up. Kenneth Keith died at the hands of the people who were supposed to be "rehabilitating" him. Hank wasn't long for this world with or without Howard and Andrea likes to drink with or without Howard.

I always thought Howard gave these people something to look forward to. Hey, I put 20-25k in Big Foot's pocket and been told I exploited him. To all those people, I say.
