I find it hard to take people seriously when their 90+ something grandparent dies (not you, TonyJax).

My 80-year-old uncle died recently. While it was very sad indeed, it wasn't like the loss of my mother, years ago.

I had a friend once who lost her shit over her 90-year-old grandmother. I was getting a headache from rolling my eyes behind her back.

Later I rationalized her behavior to the fact that this was the first person in her life she lost.
